Footwear Sizing
There are several footwear sizing conventions throughout the world. US, UK and EU shoe sizes are the ones most familiar to those in North America, but other areas such as Japan, Australia, Mexico and France also have their own conventions.
Because the shoes we carry are designed using numerous shoe sizing conventions, we convert all the original manufacturer sizes into US sizes using the following adult shoe size conversion or kids shoe size conversion charts. The US size is the size you will see when selecting a pair of shoes for purchase. For reference, we list in the shoe product description the shoe sizing convention used by the manufacturer to design the shoe.
The following guide will help you select the right sized footwear for you.
Already know your size?
If you are already familiar with a particular shoe, order the same size that you normally wear. For shoes with which you are not familiar you should be aware that unfortunately some manufacturers aren't entirely consistent in their shoe sizing. There may be slight variations for a given size. If you aren't entirely happy with the fit, please feel free to return them and we will exchange them for a different size at no cost to yourself.
Need help with your size?
As a guide to help you select your correct size first time around, the following two methods provide an easy way to determine the best shoe size for you:
Shoe Fitting Chart
We've created shoe fitting charts similar to the devices you see when visiting a shoe store. Using your printer, print out the applicable fitting chart for either Men, Women or Kids. Make sure your printer is set to print in landscape mode and that it is not set to scale the images to fit the page. To use the fitting charts, follow the instructions shown on the printouts and consider the following when measuring your shoe size:
- Many people have different sized feet so make sure to measure both of your feet and choose a shoe size that fits the larger of the two.
- Measure your feet while wearing a sock you normally would wear with the particular pair of shoes you are interested in purchasing.
- Measure your feet at the end of the day as feet tend to swell during the day.
- If your foot falls between sizes, choose the bigger size.
Foot Measurement
An alternative method to using the fitting charts is to actually measure the length of your feet and translate the length into a shoe size.
To measure the length of your feet:
- Place or tape a piece of paper to the floor.
- Place your foot firmly on the floor, leg slightly bent forward, and trace the outline of your foot while holding the pen or pencil straight up and down and snug against your foot.
- Draw two parallel lines that are perpendicular to the foot and in contact with the most prominent toe and the most prominent part of the heel.
- Using a ruler or measuring tape, measure the length between the lines to the nearest 1/16 of an inch or 1 millimeter.
- Subtract 3/16 of an inch or 5 millimeters for the measurement to account for the gap between your actual foot size and the line made by the pen or pencil.
- Use the same steps to measure your other foot.
Using the measurement from your larger foot, convert your foot length to a shoe size using the adult shoe size conversion chart or kids shoe size conversion chart.
